About Me

I have been involved in the counseling field for nearly fifteen years.  I have assisted many individuals, from many walks of life, with achieving their treatment goals.

Everyone has the ability to achieve their own personal goals.  It may be difficult, but it is far from impossible.

I sincerely believe that anyone can change his or her sadness to happiness.  It can be a simple or very difficult journey. Nevertheless, you can be happy again if you want to.  So you may ask, ”How you can change years of sadness into happiness?”  It is simple.  I have two steps for you.

  1. 1. STOP Blaming!

  2. 2. Accept Responsibility.

That is it.  You need to stop blaming history, parents, family, and others for your sadness.  You choose to be happy or sad.  Yes, I agree life can be difficult and seemingly impossible.  However, sadness does not exist outside the brain.  You also need to accept responsibility for your choices and/or mistakes.  Accept it and move on.   Accepting responsibility may take time and many steps, but it can be done.  The past cannot be changed and should not be replayed over and over just to make you more and more sad.

I have studied many therapeutic techniques and use most of them in my daily practice.  I am a firm believer in REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy).  REBT’s founder, Albert Ellis, states the following:

“Human beings seem to be 'happiest' not when they are sitting passively around doing little or nothing, and perhaps not even when they are (for relatively few moments at a time) highly excited and intensely emotionally involved in something. Rather, they seem to get along best when they are goal-oriented in the sense of being committed to and working steadily and relatively calmly at some long-range, fairly difficult project (whether it be in the field of art, science, business, or anything else)”.

Just remember, you are an amazing person and you should feel nothing less than amazing!
